The typical range, and why we quote by phone
Dumpster rental in Jackson typically ranges from $350 to $750. Where a job lands depends on four things: the container size, the type of debris, the delivery location and the rental duration. The flat rate covers delivery, pickup and disposal up to the included weight allowance, for a standard 7-day rental. No hidden fees.
We quote by phone rather than post a price list because the two things that decide the number — what is going in and how far the truck runs — change from job to job. A 15 yard of carpet in Ridgeland and a 10 yard of broken slab in Pelahatchie are different jobs at the gate and on the road. Call (601) 821-2292 with the address and the material and you will have a firm number before you hang up.
Where the number comes from: the disposal gate
The biggest cost inside any flat rate is disposal. These are the public rates that are actually published:
Private rubbish sites around the metro do not publish their gate rates. The public numbers still show the shape of the cost: clean construction debris is priced by the yard at a rubbish site, mixed household junk has to go to a landfill priced by the ton, and the heavier or more mixed the load, the more it costs at the gate.
The things that move it
Weight. The flat rate includes a stated allowance — about 1–2 tons on a 10 yard, 2–3 on a 15, 3–4 on a 20, 4–5 on a 30 and 5–6 on a 40. Concrete, brick, dirt and tile use it up fast, which is why we put heavy loads in a smaller box loaded level and tell you where the line is before you load. Over it, the container is weighed and an overage fee applies.
Days. Most rentals include a standard 7-day period. Need longer? Call and we quote a small daily or weekly extension fee. Finish early and we pick up early.
Distance. Delivery location is part of every quote. From our yard on Bailey Avenue, Flowood, Ridgeland, Pearl and Richland are roughly 8 to 10 road miles; Clinton and Madison about 11 or 12; Byram, Brandon and Gluckstadt 15 to 17; Canton, Edwards and Crystal Springs 25 to 27; Pelahatchie about 30; and Utica about 33 — close to an hour on two-lane roads. Approximate figures, but they explain why the far runs can cost a little more.
Where it has to go. Canton's code (§14-6) sends all solid waste generated in the city to the Canton landfill, so a Canton job is priced on that gate and that drive.
Permit and license fees — published and not
None of these change our flat rate, but they can add to the cost of a job. Demolition permits sit with the owner: Pearl and Brandon publish $200, Gluckstadt $200 or by valuation, whichever is greater, and Ridgeland charges building permits at $3.50 per $1,000 of construction cost plus a $30 inspection. Byram calculates its permit fees on construction value. Jackson requires a demolition permit but its fee is not published. MDEQ publishes no fee for an asbestos notice.
Hauler permits sit with us. Jackson charges $50 per truck a year (§106-87) and Clinton $50 a year plus a $500 bond (§46-196); Brandon's privilege license fee is not published. We hold ours in every town we serve. We found no dumpster street-permit fee published anywhere on our list.
Where the money hides
The most expensive container is the heavy one that should have been two. A slab, a shingle roof and a kitchen in one 30 yard is far past its allowance; a 10 of concrete loaded level plus a 20 of everything else stays inside both. Banned items cost money too — tires, batteries, paint and fridges with refrigerant do not belong in the box; the what-goes-in guide says where each goes instead. Never load above the rim: an over-full box cannot legally be hauled and sits until the top comes off.
And keep debris off the street. Jackson can clear an illegal right-of-way pile and bill the owner or contractor at $900 an hour for a hand crew, $151 for a Bobcat crew or $156 for a clamshell crew, with a one-hour minimum (§106-112) — far more than any container.
Dumpster or junk removal — and getting a quote
For anything beyond a couple of pickup loads, a container you load yourself is usually the better value, because you are paying for the box rather than the hours. For a small job with nobody to lift, our junk removal crew may suit you better. Call (601) 821-2292 — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer same-day or next-day delivery across most of the metro, depending on availability; call before noon for the best chance of same-day. Payment is by credit or debit card when the booking is confirmed.
