Roll-off dumpster rental in Clinton

Approx. 11 road miles from the yard, around 22 minutes.

Clinton is about 11 road miles from the yard, around 22 minutes, and same-day when you call before noon. It is a city of 26,617 by the Census Bureau's July 2024 estimate (28,100 at the 2020 Census) — the biggest of the Hinds County towns we cover outside Jackson.

Clinton's code puts construction waste squarely on the owner or contractor, and Waste Management will not collect roofing, concrete or tree-removal waste. It is also one of the few places on our list with a written hauler licence, which we set out plainly below.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Clinton

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Settled in 1805 at the junction of the Natchez Trace and Old Vicksburg Road, and first called Mount Salus — "mountain of health" — which was considered for the state capital.
  • Mississippi College, founded in 1826, is described by the City as the oldest college in Mississippi.
  • City crew on garbage, Waste Management on yard debris — Clinton Public Works collects garbage and recycling from 7 am; Public Works is on 601-924-2239.
  • Rubbish piles have limits — no larger than 7 ft long and 5 ft high; limbs up to 5 ft long and 8 in across; bundles up to 60 lb or 2 cubic yards. Public Works will not take whole trees.
  • Spring and fall cleanups — City dumpsters for residents at 1111 Old Vicksburg Rd twice a year, with no fridges, freezers, A/C units or e-waste.

What comes out of Clinton properties

Roofs, kitchens and baths in 15s and 20s, whole-house cleanouts in 20s and 30s, and a 10 for concrete and brick. Waste Management will not collect waste "resulting solely from construction" — roofing, concrete and tree removal included — and the homeowner has to get rid of it. Rubbish piles stop at 7 x 5 feet and the twice-yearly cleanup dumpsters refuse fridges and A/C units, so a remodel or a full clear-out is container work.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Clinton

Who may haul — the rule that matters: Clinton Code § 46-196 says anyone who contracts to remove and dispose of garbage or rubbish for others must apply to the City Clerk, be approved by the Director of Public Works, pay a $50 fee, post a $500 bond, be licensed to do business in the city and dispose of waste under the state's Solid Wastes Disposal Law. The permit runs one year. The ordinance does not use the words "roll-off" or "dumpster", and whether the City applies it to temporary construction containers is not stated. We say this plainly: the City licenses haulers, so ask us to confirm ours when you book.

Construction waste: § 46-158(a) says waste from building construction or renovation "shall be transported from the scene thereof by the owner, occupant or contractor." A container on the driveway is the simple way to do that.

In the street: no dumpster-specific rule was found. § 82-31 bars anyone but the City from doing work in a street right-of-way without plans approved by the City Engineer, and § 82-37 needs a City Clerk permit and a cash bond for heavy equipment on excavation, grading and building-moving jobs. Whether a container counts is not stated, so call Public Works on 601-924-2239 before a street placement. The driveway needs none of it.

Demolition: we found no published demolition-permit rule or fee for Clinton. Check with the City before anything comes down.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Clinton

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the 7-day rental, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, brick or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver checks the spot and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or job site, with boards under the rails if you want them. Same-day in Jackson if you called before noon, depending on availability.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, oil, paint, chemicals, fridges with the refrigerant still in them, and anything hot. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes out tarped to a permitted rubbish site or landfill, with metal, concrete and clean green waste recycled where the facility takes them. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Clinton — common questions

Is Clinton same-day?

Usually, yes — it is about 22 minutes from the yard. Call (601) 821-2292 before noon.

Does Clinton restrict who can supply a roll-off?

Clinton's code requires anyone hauling garbage or rubbish for others to hold a City permit — $50 a year plus a $500 bond. Ask us to confirm ours when you book.

Will the City take my roofing or concrete?

No. Waste Management will not collect waste from construction, roofing, concrete or tree removal, and the code makes it the owner's or contractor's job. That is what a container is for.

Can a dumpster sit in the street in Clinton?

We found no rule written for it. Right-of-way work needs City Engineer approval, so call Clinton Public Works (601-924-2239) first — or keep it on the driveway.

Every city and town we cover

We run roll-off containers out of the Bailey Avenue yard to every city and town below. Jackson and the close-in cities are usually same-day; the edges of the metro are often next-day. Jackson, Clinton and Brandon license the haulers that work inside their limits, and Canton sends its garbage to its own landfill — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
