Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Brandon
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Rankin County seat — named for Governor Gerard Chittocque Brandon; the county was created in February 1828 and named for Christopher Rankin.
- No public dump — "The City of Brandon DOES NOT have a public dump or disposal site."
- No construction debris pickup — the City and WM will not pick up debris from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition, roofing, landscape materials and tree removal included.
- Limb rules — up to 5 ft long and 8 in across, piles 3 ft high and 60 lb; trees are not picked up, and contractor-cut limbs are the contractor's to remove (§ 66-45).
- Brandon Amphitheater opened in 2018 and hosted its 100th concert on 17 May 2025.

What comes out of Brandon properties
Roofs, kitchens and baths in 15s and 20s, cleanouts in 20s and 30s, and a 10 for concrete, brick and dirt. § 66-44 says building debris will not be removed and the owner must have it privately removed, and the City sends businesses to arrange their own collection. With no public dump in the city, a container is the normal answer.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Brandon
Who may haul — the rule that matters: Brandon Code § 66-61 makes it unlawful for anyone other than City contractors to run a business collecting garbage, rubbish or any solid waste in the city "except those private collectors specifically authorized by a privilege license issued by the city." Under §§ 66-63 to 66-66 the applicant lists its equipment and rates and proves insurance, the superintendent investigates, and the mayor and board of aldermen approve, for one fiscal year. The fee was not found. We say this plainly: Brandon licenses haulers, so ask us to confirm ours when you book.
Placement: no street permit was found. § 50-112 bars blocking a driveway, parking lot, alley or road with any device so as to cut off access to a public street, and police may remove it at the owner's cost (§§ 50-113, 50-114). The City also says not to put debris in the street or curb. Commercial dumpsters must sit behind the business in an enclosure, temporary construction containers excepted (§ 66-48).
Demolition: the City's fee schedule lists $200 for demolition of any building or structure.
Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.
How it works
Booking a dumpster in Brandon
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no waiting on an email.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the 7-day rental, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, brick or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver checks the spot and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or job site, with boards under the rails if you want them. Same-day in Jackson if you called before noon, depending on availability.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, oil, paint, chemicals, fridges with the refrigerant still in them, and anything hot. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load goes out tarped to a permitted rubbish site or landfill, with metal, concrete and clean green waste recycled where the facility takes them. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Brandon — common questions
Is Brandon same-day?
Usually, yes — about 22 minutes from the yard. Call (601) 821-2292 before noon.
Does Brandon restrict who can supply a roll-off?
Yes. Private collectors need a City privilege licence approved by the mayor and board of aldermen. Ask us to confirm ours when you book.
Will the City take my remodel or roofing debris?
No — the City and WM do not pick up debris from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition, and the City has no public dump.
Can the dumpster go at the curb?
Keep it on the driveway. The City asks for no debris in the street or curb, and the code bars blocking access to a public street.
Service area
Every city and town we cover
We run roll-off containers out of the Bailey Avenue yard to every city and town below. Jackson and the close-in cities are usually same-day; the edges of the metro are often next-day. Jackson, Clinton and Brandon license the haulers that work inside their limits, and Canton sends its garbage to its own landfill — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
